Bizz-bizz® at PPMC: All You Need to Know About Bee-Wraps

A true zero-waste alternative to plastic and aluminum food wraps, the bee-wrap is a fabric food wrap coated with beeswax. Reusable and washable, it’s designed to wrap bowls, dishes, or food items just like plastic wrap. The Bizz-bizz® is moldable and easily takes the shape of your container using the natural warmth of your hands.

With this article, bee-wraps will no longer be a mystery  you’ll learn everything about how they’re made and how to use them!

What is a bee-wrap?

Say goodbye to plastic wrap and discover Papa Pique et Maman Coud’s zero-waste food wrap solution.

The Bizz-bizz® wraps offered by Papa Pique et Maman Coud are made in collaboration with the brand Ah Table, using GOTS-certified organic cotton. The wax used to coat the fabric is made of organic beeswax from certified beekeeping, organic rapeseed oil, and organic pine resin.

These bee-wraps are the result of a partnership between Ah Table and PPMC. In fact, Papa Pique et Maman Coud created the exclusive fabric designs featured on the wraps!

How do you use a bee-wrap?

The fabric food wrap by Papa Pique et Maman Coud is a wonderful zero-waste solution for keeping your food fresh for longer.

Using a bee-wrap is easy:

  1. Place the bee-wrap over your dish or bowl

  2. Use your hands to mold it around the edges

  3. Hold it in place for a few seconds the warmth of your hands will soften the wax and make it stick

  4. That’s it! Your dish is now covered without plastic wrap

You can also wrap food items directly (like half a fruit or a vegetable) using the same technique. The wax is food-safe but should not be used to wrap raw meat or fish.

How do you care for your bee-wrap?

Bee-wraps help you avoid single-use plastic, but they still need a bit of care to last as long as possible:

  • Clean your bee-wrap with lukewarm water and a soft sponge (under 30°C), without scrubbing too hard

  • Bee-wraps are heat-sensitive: do not use them in an oven, microwave, or on hot dishes

  • Over time, if the wax begins to wear off, don’t worry — you can re-coat your bee-wrap using Ah Table’s re-waxing kit, also available on our website
