DIY Tutorial: Make an Easy Easter Wreath with Your Kids

Easter is just around the corner and this year, with the kids home more often, it’s the perfect time to get crafty as a family!

In this article, we’re sharing a super simple Easter wreath tutorial that you can easily make with things you already have at home.
Grab your colored pencils and markers this fun and creative activity is ideal for a family afternoon.

Materials You'll Need

You can adapt the materials based on what you already have at home. This is an easy and flexible project!

  • A piece of cardboard (we used an old file folder)

  • Our Easter egg templates to print and decorate

  • Scissors

  • String, kitchen twine, or ribbon

  • Colored pencils, markers, stickers anything your kids can use to decorate their eggs

How to Make a Pretty Easter Wreath

To make things easier, we’ve put together this step-by-step tutorial that you can explain to your children. Let the Easter decorating begin!

Step 1: Draw Two Circles

On your piece of cardboard, draw one large circle, then a smaller one inside it to create a ring shape.

Step 2: Cut Out the Wreath Base

Cut along both circles to get your wreath base this is where you’ll attach the Easter eggs.

Step 3: Print and Cut the Egg Templates

Download and print our Easter egg template, then cut out each egg shape.

Step 4: Let the Decorating Begin!

Have your children decorate the eggs however they like! Use colored pencils, markers, glitter, stickers… let their imagination run wild.

Step 5: Attach the Eggs to the Wreath

Stick the decorated eggs onto the cardboard wreath base using glue, tape, or a glue gun.

Step 6: Add the String and Hang

Attach a piece of string to the back of the wreath to hang it up.
We simply glued ours on with a hot glue gun. Now your Easter wreath is ready to hang on a wall, door, or window!

You can even make multiple wreaths and hang one on each of your kids' bedroom doors for a festive touch.

And That’s It!

You now have a cheerful Easter wreath to decorate your home and a fun activity to enjoy with your children.
