What do I need to make my reusable cotton pads?

Would you like to start sewing with an easy and useful project? Why not begin with something simple and practical like a reusable makeup remover pad? Here's what you'll need to make your own:

  • Cotton fabric of your choice (check out our beautiful cotton fabrics or fabric bundles for inspiration)

  • Bamboo terry cloth or another soft absorbent fabric

  • A sewing machine

  • Matching thread

How to sew your own reusable makeup pads

Once you’ve selected your fabrics, follow these simple steps to make your first reusable pad in about 10 minutes:

  1. Cut a 10×10 cm square from both the cotton and the terry cloth.

  2. Place the right sides of the fabrics facing each other.

  3. Pin the layers together to keep them in place.

  4. Sew around the square with a 0.5 cm seam allowance, leaving one side open.

  5. Turn the fabric right side out, and push out the corners using a pointed object.

  6. Close the open side with a topstitch, sewing 0.5 cm from the edge.

  7. And there you go! Your first reusable makeup remover pad is done. Keep going and make one for each day of the week!
