Step-by-step sewing tutorial

Step 1: Cutting

Cut your fabric using a 22 x 22 cm square to keep all sides equal.

Step 2: Assembling

Place the two fabric squares right sides together. Trace the heart pattern on the back of one square and pin them together.

Step 3: Sewing

Sew 1 cm inside the tracing, slightly rounding the angle between the two curves. Don’t sew the bottom edge.

Step 4: Trimming

Trim the seam allowance around the curves and clip close to the seam at the inner corner.

Step 5: Hemming

Fold the bottom edge over twice by 1 cm to form a hem. Sew along the edge, leaving a 2 cm opening at the center of one side. Don’t forget to backstitch.

Step 6: Final touches

Use a safety pin to thread the ribbon through the hem opening. Iron and turn right-side out.

Bonus tip:

Fill it with little treasures and tie it shut with a bow. You can also attach it to a wooden stick to turn it into a heart-shaped balloon bouquet!
