A Morning at the PPMC Stall at the Quiberon Market

Did you know? Papa Pique et Maman Coud does the market tour every summer! That’s right — our story began over 25 years ago on the markets of Morbihan, and that’s why, even today, you can still find our products on our colourful, cheerful stand.

To share a little bit of our daily life, we’re taking you behind the scenes of the PPMC market tour — more specifically, to the Quiberon market (Morbihan)… Set your alarm clock early, because the day starts at dawn!

7:00 a.m. – Setting up the Papa Pique et Maman Coud stand

It’s 7:15 a.m. when Éric and Adeline arrive at the Quiberon market square. But their day started long before that — they left our platform in Vannes earlier in the morning, van packed with all the equipment.

The sun is shining, there’s a light breeze, and the sea view makes the moment even more enjoyable. Without wasting time, they start setting up the stand. Bit by bit, it takes shape and is ready to welcome the first customers.

8:00 a.m. – The first customers appear

Around 8:00 a.m., the first shoppers arrive at the market, looking for fresh fruits and vegetables. Quiberon is slowly waking up.

Éric and Adeline take turns grabbing a coffee, because they’ll need the energy to welcome everyone throughout the morning. They also buy a little snack from neighbouring stalls — at the market, lunch comes late, so a mid-morning bite is a must.

Back at the stand, they make the final touches: fluffing up the scrunchies, straightening the vanity cases, and making sure nothing is missing so that everyone can find something they love.

11:00 a.m. – Peak time at the Quiberon market

Vacationers and locals trickle in throughout the morning, but around 11:00 a.m., the market is buzzing. The smell of rotisserie chicken, fresh fruit, and vegetables fills the air.

At the Papa Pique et Maman Coud stand, scrunchies and hair clips for little girls are flying off the table. Beach bags and small purses for strolling the market are also big hits.

Éric and Adeline work in perfect tandem to answer questions and help each customer, making sure everyone leaves happy.

1:00 p.m. – Time to pack up

Even the most beautiful Breton markets must come to an end (as they say, all good things must). As visitors settle down at café terraces or head home for lunch with their market finds, it’s time for the vendors to pack away.

For Éric and Adeline, that means putting away bags, scrunchies, hair clips, and headbands, then dismantling the stand itself. It’s been a busy, fulfilling morning, and now it’s time to head back to the platform.

In July and August, you can find us at the Quiberon market every Saturday morning. We’re also present at other Morbihan markets, including Carnac and Saint-Pierre-Quiberon, and in Finistère at Bénodet and Fouesnant.
